At IAS Medical we fly Patients, Surgical teams and Transplant teams around the world.

After each flight, we almost always receive an appreciative letter, email or phone call from either the patient or their family.

Here is a small selection of the letters we received between 2008 and 2011.

Dear George and Sarah

I am just writing to thank you for all your hard work during the transfer of my mother. My mother was full of praise for the personnel who looked after her during the fight and ambulance journeys, as was my father. It was particularly impressive that they stayed with my mother until she was settled into a proper bed. I arrived very shortly after the crew departed and found that my mother, despite her hectic day, was in very good spirit, if tired.

Both of you worked very hard to deal with what proved to be an unusually challenging situation. I could not have asked for more from you and will, of course, recommend your services without hesitation to anyone I know in need of them.

Dear Jenny,
 
As I am sure you can understand it has been the worst time ever in our family with our father falling ill in July. There were many a times we did not know how and where to turn and when all that was falling into place the last question we had was HOW do we get him to London??

The first time I rang you I was so pleasantly received and helped. He told me EVERYTHING about what you do,how you do it and I nearly cried as he was just so friendly and helpful. And from there on we decided to use your company!
 
I find with all the communication between all of us it has been so fluent and professional. Nothing has been a problem from your side and you have just made it all so simple and easy for us at a very stressful time.
 
The actual transfer yesterday was absolutely marvellous!!! My parents were well looked after, they had a fantastic flight, and my mother praised the Captain and said he was very professional and made the flight so comfortable. Everything yesterday went so well.
 
As for you keeping in touch with my brother and myself all day long was also HIGHLY APPRECIATED.
 
All in all,and I speak on behalf of all of us, you are extremely professional, approachable and helpful and I can not praise your company enough.

Dear Jenny, George and Sarah

The service my family and I received from IAS Medical was nothing short of first class. From the initial contact with George, backed up by the timely support offered by Sarah, through to the expert medical team assigned on the ground – the service was professional, expedient and above all, caring.

Nothing was too much trouble and from the outset, George and his team were proactive in every respect. I was particularly impressed with the text message updates on the day of repatriation which I was able to forward on to other family members who were equally concerned by my father’s well being. My father is now undergoing radiotherapy treatment and is pleased to be back in the UK.

In short, I would recommend the services of IAS Medical without hesitation.

On a lighter note, I visited my father at the weekend, and was delighted to see the patient even felt relaxed enough to take a photo mid-flight.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your team for your support, professionalism and efficiency.

Not having had to deal with a situation of this nature before the initial week and a half was extremely stressful, particularly for my sister who flew out to Italy to help care for my Mother and deal with the Italian medical profession.

Mother's insurers were of very little help or support.

Having contacted your company it was a relief to speak to someone who understood the circumstances from the outset, and also worked with us to enable a solution to safely return Mother to the UK and a local hospital.  In addition co-ordinating with the Italian hospital and the UK hospital to affect the transfer.  Whilst the situation in Italy continued to be complex and stressful it was apparent that you and your colleagues were working to assist where possible.

I am writing from my parents home with my dad safely installed in hospital. I wanted to drop a note of thanks to you both for helping to make this happen. I fear I may sound dangerously like one of your many testimonials, but it's worth saying anyway.

As you both clearly appreciated, it's a very stressful and anxious time for us now. My mum, brother and I were so grateful for your professionalism, meticulous attention to detail and outstanding organisation. The journey went well and we were particualrly impressed with our medic.
 
Although the care Dad received in Palma was excellent, we have no doubt that moving him back home at this stage was the best decision for him, in order to ensure his continued recovery. We are extremely grateful to you for managing that move relatively stress free.

Dear Sirs

I would like to thank the team at IAS Medical for the excellent service you provided during the repatriation of my elderly father from France to England following a road traffic accident and a major operation.

Sarah was our main point of contact from our first enquiry through to confirmation that my father had safely arrived in hospital. We were extremely impressed by Sarah's professional manner and efficiency throughout. She inspired complete confidence in IAS' ability and kept us updated and well informed at all times.

My concerns about the difficulty of finding an NHS bed for my father in a hospital close to his home were allayed as you were able to organise admission to his nearest NHS Orthopaedic ward and handled all communication with the French hospital.

My father and stepmother were transported swiftly and smoothly during the journey from northern France to Southampton and very well looked after by the ambulance and air crew.

I hope that no-one needs to make use of your services but if they did I would highly recommend you.

*** phoned me from the hospital in Glasgow this morning to say that everything went according to plan, his nurse was excellent and that he couldn't have wished for better service.
 
The hospice in Paphos were also impressed with the way things went and have retained your telephone number and web address in case they have other patients who need repatriating.

I felt confident that IAS Medical would be able to repatriate my parents from Greece from the outset, when  I made my first enquiry and spoke to George.

I think this was to do with his positive response and prognosis of the situation.

Subsequent dealings with Sarah, who oversaw the details of the operation, only enhanced my view and convinced me that I'd made the right decision to choose IAS Medical.

I can't thank you all enough for the way you brought back my parents from what was becoming a very desperate situation.

I'd also like to thank the nurse and the crew of the plane for their care and treatment of my parents.

Just a quick note to say thank you so much for all your help over the past few days.

As you can imagine, it was a particularly
difficult time for all concerned, however both you and the entire team at IAS made the whole process as stress-free as possible.

The doctors who accompanied my mother on the aircraft were superb as were the ground ambulance staff who transported my mother to the hosptal in the UK.

The whole task was coordinated in an extremely professional and caring manner. I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending your company to anybody in the future.

The service was excellent – thank you.  It’s really difficult organising anything when you are outside of your home country and so I really appreciated being able to contact a single organisation who took all the hassle and complexities of repatriation out of my hands. 

I particularly welcomed the excellent communication – right from the outset, you were constantly available and in contact whilst we worked out the details and then on the day of the flight, it was great to have an update every step of the way.  I welcomed speaking to friendly and helpful people in what was a difficult time.

Importantly, my elderly mother was calm throughout the whole day – she felt very well looked after.

Many thanks for your considerable help and support. Mum is now getting good care back in hospital at home.

Hi,

I have never experienced any problems with IAS.

When I call, I normally speak to George & I can honestly say that I always get a first class service.

George always sends emails with regards to the aircraft that has been arranged and I am sent updates with the flight departure and landing times on a regular basis as well as calls.

All in all first class service!

You guys were so sensitive to our situation and treated us with the greatest kindness and respect.

You carried out the repatriation very professionally and we so pleased with the outcome and the fact that you made the journey for Dad so comfortable and stress free for both him and my brother who travelled in the plane with him.
 
Throughout the whole exercise you kept us informed all the way which was wonderful for us to receive this information even from the air! As you know it was a very anxious time for the family back in the UK and we were amazed by the step-by-step bulletins we were getting.
 
If there is ever another time when we may need your services or could recommend your services to anyone else we would definitely contact IAS - you were all great and made us feel that we were in very safe hands and what's more......we were!
 
Would you also please pass on our thanks to the nurse who travelled with Dad as she actually rang my brother a few weeks ago to check up on how her 'patient' was doing, which we thought was a lovely gesture.
 
We are looking forward to a much more "normal" 2011 and a big win on the lottery would be nice too!!

After medical advice and in collaboration with the patient’s treating doctors it was decided that the transfer (from London to Brazil) needed to be done by air ambulance with expert medical attention.

IAS Medical were appointed two weeks prior to the repatriation date. They arranged a Lear Jet 35 with a Doctor and two intensive care trained nurses.

At all times IAS were attentive, thoughtful and professional in approach.
