European Air Ambulance Service From Spain to UK

Air Ambulance to the UK

Filed under: — Posted by: admin on February 6, 2012

We at IAS Medical are a leader in the field of medical repatriation. With fully equipped and aero-medically staffed aircraft located at strategic locations across the UK and Europe, we can provide a bed-to-bed air ambulance to any UK destination, from anywhere in the world.

It’s tempting to think “it won’t happen to me” when arranging travel insurance. Unfortunately, it all too often does; a large number of flights by air ambulance to the UK are arranged on behalf of insurance companies. However, many flights are also paid for personally – either because traveller didn’t bother with travel insurance, or because the policy they had didn’t cover medical repatriation. However, air ambulances are surprisingly affordable considering the level of service you receive, especially if you are being repatriated from a European destination such as France or Spain.

Air ambulances are also used by large companies. A British corporation may book an air ambulance to the UK, for example, if a member of staff working abroad is taken ill. Most would prefer their staff to be looked after at home, rather than a local hospital which may be poorly equipped (or highly expensive). Foreign embassies, private hospitals, the NHS and the UK government also charter private air ambulances to UK destinations.

There are many advantages to arranging a chartered air ambulance to the UK. Our modern fleet of Cheyenne, King Air and Lear Jets is located in strategic positions throughout Europe, with full door-to-door ground ambulance service. Staffed by experienced, aero-medically qualified doctors and nurses, aircraft are fitted with complete bed-to-bed stretcher systems configured to the patient’s individual needs, incorporating medical oxygen, suction and the latest state-of-the-art medical equipment. To allow the highest level of medical care, space is limited, although there is room for a travelling companion and one piece of hand luggage.

If your loved ones need an air ambulance to the UK, we at IAS Medical attend to every aspect of their care, from discharge notes and retrieval of medical records, to admission at an NHS or private hospital.
