Colchester’s Weston Homes Community Station will be hosting the Essex Motorcycle Show on the last Sunday of April. The event, which is also the venue for the local football club, will be raising funds for an air ambulance service.
There will be a number of trade stands, taken up by well-known companies among motorcycle enthusiasts such as Cannon Motorcycles, as well as a Japanese display, CADAM training school and a slow riding contest. There will also be workshops and demo bikes available.
Essex policeman Mick Green said he is keen for the bikers to enjoy the event but to also bear safety in mind:
“We want motorcyclists to enjoy their bikes and the Essex roads, and most riders who come out with us on a Bike Safe day go away enjoying their riding much more. Essex Motorcycle Show gives motorcyclists the chance to ride various new demos while having a ride out with a Bike Safe assessor; it is a great opportunity for free, so come along and have a go!”
There will be activities that the whole family can enjoy, including a bouncy castle to keep the kids entertained, along with the local air ambulance service performing a flyover.
Situated very close to Colchester and with direct links off the A12, it is easy to reach for bikers, who can enjoy a fun day which is designed to promote safety and raise money for a worthy cause at the same time.
There will also be the Essex Air Ambulance Motorcycle Run. The air ambulance service will be present to offer information, with bikers able to put their names down for the event.
