Pupils from Spalding Grammar School will be parading some recent designs for a day’s worth of classes later in 2012 to raise money for charities, including a local air ambulance service.
They are the latest in a line of organisations to plan a fund raising event between May the 14th and 21st.
Spalding Rotary Club is asking for people in the area to organise an event for charity during that week, to assist those who have been chosen for the good work they contribute to the region.
The aim is to raise £10,000 to help charities, along with the local Scouts and Guides, air ambulance service and Spalding’s Phab.
There have already been donations made, with over £4,000, including a £2,000 donation from Bakkavor, waiting to be added to.
An offer of sponsorship has been made by Bulley Davey. The accounting company have said that they will sponsor trays for the whistles, available to buy during the charity week.
Alan Porter, President of the Rotary Club said it is grateful for the help they are receiving.
“Thank you to those who have already pledged to support us and we wish them every success with their event. We want to get the community behind us for that week. We’re now going all out to get the public’s support.”
For anyone wishing to take party in the charity week, you simply need to let the organisers know your plan and when you intend to carry it out.
